Color StyleWriter 2200
#1
Yesterday I was given a Color StyleWriter 2200 but without the power converter. It is pleasingly small and, if it would work with my Powerbook G4 (MacOS 10.4.11), I'd like to take it along when I travel. I have a Belkin F5U003 serial to USB converter that may work. Apparently the available Canon BCI-11B ink cartridge fits it.

So my questions are: Would it likely work if I had the right power converter? If so what might be a place to buy such a power converter other than the $27 dollar one I saw on Ebay?

Thanks.

I'll drop in and propose that while this was a nice printer in its day, it's incredibly long in the tooth and will not provide what modern inkjet users would call a 'decent' image. You can get a small printer with cartridges for about the cost of a power pack and cartridges for this antique.

looks to be the same as

and if you had to make due, it looks like a wii power supply could be modded to work

JEBB, let us know if you get it working... I will try to test my old 2200 out as well. I bought an HP portable ink jet printer, about $350.00 I think it was, and it never worked well. Still have it too, but it is too unreliable to use. The old StyleWriter 2200 never failed me, still works on my PB Kanga (original PB G3), but that old Mac won't run OS X.
