Last week I picked up a copy of Final Cut Express for a project. Installed it, watched the tutorial DVDs, but never really fired it up. Project I had intended it for was finished by making a kludgey iMovie slideshow at the 11th hour. Today FCE 4.0 comes out - hey! I ask my local Apple Store what's up and they give me the "well, that's technology for you" routine. So I am wondering if others on the forum have had experiences in dealing with a manager or Apple directly for some fair relief or exchange on this. Yes I did open and install it. Just wondering others' experiences. Thanks.

does 4 do anything you really need? still no 24p support i guess.

LiveType. I don't think that was included before, though I've never used FC(E), only FCP.

LiveType is in 3.5. I'm in the same boat, but bought mine about 32 days ago. I tried to find info on the apple site, but could only find a phone number for contact.

I read they eliminated Soundtrack in the new version so that is one nice benefit to the previous version.
