New to ebay, wondering about transaction
#1
I am new to selling on ebay and I just sold my iPhone, the buyer paid right away and the address was confirmed. Will someone that deals with ebay a lot take a look at this address and what you think about the whole thing before I ship it (he has positive feedback). I had it marked for US only, his address has US in it, the address is:

137 urb. villas del bosque
cidra, PR 00739
United States

Here is my auction:

PR is a US Protectorate. If you got your money, I would think that shipping would be no worse than FL. Certainly better than Hawaii! Or Guam!

Well, it's Puerto Rico. I see you offered free shipping, if it's much more to ship to PR, you may want to have him kick in a few extra bucks. I usually do that if it's a lot more, otherwise I pay the entire postage. In this case, it's probably not much more than sending to Florida.
He looks OK, I would ship it out.

Thanks for the quick responces.

It was a easy transaction, I was just like why can't it be Kansas or something like that. Being unfamiliar just worried me for my second transaction, I hear all of the bad stories about getting ripped off.

Though there is risk, to be sure, I think the eBay risk thing is overblown if you avoid certain scam-prone hot items (like, um, iPhones). I've seen lots of scary anecdotes, but no fraud percentages compared to "normal" purchases.

I've never been ripped off as a seller (feedback rating 99.9% positive, 130 entries), and that includes several $500+ sales.

I've certainly been annoyed as a seller. (e.g., the jerk responsible for my less-than-100% positive feedback)

I did get ripped off once as a buyer, but not for much. Got the goods, but condition was much poorer than the description implied to me.

I have actually had much worse luck (statistically) with getting defective merchandise via normal online storefronts.

I had to add will only ship to continental US + AK and HI to all my listings because Ebay insists that PR is a US state. Still doesn't stop the idiots from bidding though.

I have have made eBay sales to people in Puerto Rico without any problems.

Puerto Rico is a US territory, its currency is the dollar, and its residents are US citizens. Addresses in PR can also qualify as PayPal confirmed addresses under the PayPal Seller Protection Policy.
