Got a notice from Yahoo that my password was changed. Not by me though.

Can't log in any more.

They tell me to send in info from when I first did my profile.

Problem is I didn't use my real birthday and it has been so long that I can't remember what I used. They won't open it up without it. But makes me wonder what the person is doing with my email account. I hardly ever used the account, mostly for subscriptions to Bulletin Boards.

Any advice on what to do?

Forget it and open new account?

This happened to me once. . .someone hijacked my yahoo email account BUT luckily and coincidentally they did it exactly as I was in my account. ..


I saw messages deleted before my eyes. . .I changed my password immediately and the damage was minimalized.

All they did was delete the message in my email box.


I learned right then the difficulty of contacting anyone at yahoo.

I emailed them to see if they could recover what was deleted (they can't be contacted by telephone. . .at least I could not find any telephone)

I got on of those automated emails which didn't even pertain to the incident.


You can try but I don't think you will get any help.


I hope you didn't keep any valuable info @ that email. change the email for any account like Ebay, etc that was connected to that email ASAP. If you didn't have anything valuable, then just open a new account

remember to use a password that has letter/numbers etc. people tend to use over simplistic passwords that are easily hacked.

What's wrong with KeyChain?

New.Dad, AFAIK, Keychain doesn't allow you to encrypt the password database or require a password to open it...
