What the price of gold be two years from now?



I used to think that the people who were predicting $1000 gold were nuts.

It's the 1980's all over again - January '80 it was $850 - up $700 in five years (mid 70's) and by mid '82 back to $300

I purchased a few Krugerrands in the late '70s for around $300+. I still own them. Although they've increased in value, they've been a relatively lousy investment.

I bought some AAPL shares at around $15 when it was tanking but sold them just before the iPod exploded. I made a decent profit there, but the profit I gave up by selling my Apple shares too soon haunts me to this day.

I've still got the Krugerrands, but I wish I'd held onto AAPL instead.

Live and learn.

Mob psychology is so interesting. Things just keep repeating over and over.

It should have been obvious that the stock market of the late 90's was a classic bubble.

Then we had the real estate market where buyers were bidding asking prices up.

Rinse and repeat again.

Don't buy gold. Instead buy stock in companies that mine and refine it. Then treat it like any other stock: buy low and sell high.

No, buy stock in the companies that are hawking gold. These scammers sell it for twice what the real price is. Better yet, open your own company to sell gold (if you can afford to advertise on Fox News.)

I don't remember if the gold market was also being manipulated at the time, like silver was
by the famous Hunt Brothers. Photographers watched the price of film and photo paper nearly double,
yet it never dropped back down when silver did.
