Green tea ginger; black forest; cinnamon cappuccino.

Green tea ginger is so refreshing and light.
Black forest and cinnamon cappuccino are in the freezer getting solid right now. The bases taste delicious, can't hardly wait till they are frozen!

I think the most unconventional ice cream I've ever made was avocado ice cream.

I'm glad you don't live near enough for me to be a volunteer taste tester, or I would gain 20 lbs. That cinnamon cappuccino sounds delicious.

I believe it was an Alton Brown recipe.

If you want to try something unusual (at least in most parts of the US) seek out an persian ice cream stand. Think saffron flavored ice cream and rose water flavored ice creams. There was even a cucumber flavor at one point at my favorite place. My 2 cents.

Unusual is right. Not my cup of tea though. Wifey loves it.

You've got to be careful with saffron. If you use too much, your food will end up tasting like medicine.

I like it in Risotto Milanese.

I don't know, I think you may like it!

Just to make it clear, these are very much a dessert items (and not a savory item or flavored shaved ice cone)... they are sweet and have a milk base (at least some are). Sort of like vanilla with the added flavors as extra tastes. Kind of like the richness of flavored gelato. Yummmm.
