I've pretty much decided the iPad is the way to go for couch surfing (thanks for all who chimed in on my recent post about the subject) but there's the nagging issue of browser flash support being non-existant. So, when I go to order a pizza from, say Papa Johns, will I be able to do it? I have Click to Flash on my laptops and always enable it to see the specials, etc. My concern is how many web sites will be compromised by the lack of flash support, since web browsing will be the thing I do most on the iPad.

I almost never have to go to the MacBook because of no flash on the iPad. I have been surprised how much of a non-issue it seems to be.

No "app for that" yet but try their mobile site: [mobile.papajohns.com] (takes you to the regular site if using a regular computer).

I realize not everything is doable if you lack Flash, but more and more stuff doesn't need it. Sites optimized for mobile devices are a thing we never see or really find out about when using a normal computer.

1) Tally up the sorts of sites you frequent that rely on Flash, THEN Google that company (like I just did for Papa Johns) to see if there's either an app or a mobile site and so on.

2) Know that an iPad isn't a replacement for a fully functioning computer. You may have to order pizza another way. Like with a telephone (ha!)

3) Get the iPad already! (but re-read #2) Know that your purchase helps fuel the drive for alternative sites and apps.

4) I'll take mine any way you wanna order it, but save the mushrooms and black olives. That crap stinks.

Adobe can suck it. I'll refuse to make use of a site requiring Flash on my iPad. I may miss out on a thing or two but I can assure you it's not a great loss for me.

Adobe would love for you to enjoy their Flash on your iPad.

I have FlashBlocker on my computers & when I StumbleUpon a site with an un-viewable Flash page, I move on to the next one & have never felt that I've missed anything important.

Never, here too.

I may remember the site the next time I'm at a Mac. I may not.

Never. But then, I don't have an iPad, either.

I use only real computers.
