Where's a good disassembly guide for the 12" Powerbook?

OWC doesn't have one sad smiley

Every one I've found online sucks. They either:
- Loops ads over and over and don't actually play the video
- Go super fast to the point that frame-by-frame even skips steps
- Don't start from the beginning (eg assume it's already taken apart)
- Have horrible video or pictures

Are you going to tell us which ones or make us guess?

Huh? I'm looking for a good one. Why would I need to say which ones suck? Either someone knows of a good one and thus can post a link, or...

The powerbook medic HD one starts after the machine has been disassembled. The intro is kinda pointless, and they don't list a removal guide for the bottom of the machine.

Ifixit guide is great.
Protip: use the screw guide and tape down your screws.

Huh? All covered in the preceding video! Doh!

"The intro is kinda pointless"

Wow, that must have been traumatic for you.

It's amazing how complex Apple made this one. There's roughly 38 screws to swap the HD. For my Ti500, there's 12.

1. It's not clear that's the case.
2. When googling for it, that video comes up in many places and none of them link to the preceding video.

Wow, that must have been traumatic for you.

Traumatic? Maybe for you. For me it was just a waste of time to find it over and over again and not have it reference the actual teardown video.

Yeah, the vast majority of the other places that video is hosted doesn't reference the initial video. Plus, having only torn apart a half dozen or so mac laptops, I hadn't seen one where the HD was accessible from the top. Most I've seen are from the bottom. So I didn't think going through the top would help.

If the Powerbook Medic videos were so unsatisfactory why didn't you mention that in your original post? Then you could have avoided wasting the time I spent trying to help you. Sheesh.

There's not point in mentioning everything that doesn't apply to my request. I wanted a good link that explained how to get to the hard drive. Others figured this out relatively easily.

What evidence do you have for that?

It took me about 20 seconds to figure out. Hal figured it out pretty quickly too. What's your malfunction?

You're the one challenging my statement. Provide some proof that you're not just lying to try and cover up the fact you got caught making invalid statements.

This is all really sad. I posted a question, you immediately came in and posted a confrontational response. A couple other helpful posters posted useful answers. And now you continue being argumentative and are now just flat out lying to be so.

Hal figured it out because he's seen it before. My malfunction? You're the one who's making up lies and trying to dish out attacks. If you're looking for a malfunction, take a look in the mirror.

The information was all at the link I provided. You are obviously too dense to comprehend that. You have my sympathy.

Actually, no, technically it wasn't. Alas, you got caught laying and you don't even have enough courtesy to apologize so I'm done arguing with you.

back on non-drama topic: careful with those function keys.

very easy to break the scissor mechanism or the key cap itself.

Yeah decay, I hear ya. I was very careful about that. I was able to get them back on pretty easily, which I'm glad because I have a wireless keyboard for a PC where the scissor key is halfway disconnected and I can't get it back on.

Currently downloading the 10.5.8 update. Thanks again to p8712 and Fritz for pointing out ifixit.
