Vanilla coke is no more, agggghhh!

My favorite pop, vanilla coke, is not going to be made anymore. So, what kind of vanilla do I want to add to a regular can of coke to get a similar flavor?

Cheapest real vanilla you can find. Start with 1/8 tsp and see what you think. Work up/down from there.

Don't use the fake stuff.

you can use vanilla extract but make sure to get the Pure. . .(not imitation)


Black cherry diet coke is my current favorite.

by the way, how did the belly button thing turn out?

I always like a good follow-up story.

Belly button is no longer hurting. Very strange situation. I decided to get thru the house move and then go to the doc and make sure everything is ok. I really apprecated all the responses I got.

. . .there are also places to get the stuff they use in the old fashioned "soda fountain" places. ..probably vanila syrup?

you can probably buy it in bulk and they might have a lot of other flavors. . .

know what's weird? i was just talking about adding vanilla syrup (or extract) to Kosher Coke yesterday evening. i was saying how Vanilla Coke off the shelf tastes nothing like an old fountain vanilla Coke.

i may try some extract.

Depending on where you live, the local grocery chain may have a "Vanilla Cola" under their house brand, if you want to avoid the mixing.

I'm also a fan, sorry to see it go. Yeah, ditto th' others, just add a BIT of vanilla to your drink. Or a scoop of 'nilla ice cream is always nice!

Use the flavoring to get the closest match to vanilla Coke off the shelf. You can bet that the Coca-Cola Company does not use extract in its product. Too expensive.

I think they will replace it with the new "Negative Calorie Diet Cherry-Chocolate-Lemon-Lime, with Nicotine"; Caffiene is so 2005.
