Most cellphones are ridiculously priced. Most are crap, hardware, software, and interface.
Entices most folks to buy plans.

I don't recall Nokia having a 6320 phone, do you mean a 6230?
That is a very nice simple phone, with Bluetooth and big buttons.
The Nokia interface puts Motorola to shame, but that isn't saying much, Motorola has always had the worst interface on its phones.

Oops, it's Nokia 6230 indeed ... having a slight case of A.M. dylexia ;)

The complete story: we signed up for a new 2 year contract with Cingular, S/O wanted the RAZv3 and I would end up with her old phone, the Nokia. Now that she has learnt a bit about her new toy's interface, she wants to keep her old phone; I am stuck with this StarTrek device ... I can't stand flip phone.

So true! I remember they had two models...one was $800-$900...and the other model was ~$1,200!

If I remember correctly, the main difference that stuck out was the lesser model only held like 30 to 60 contact numbers, and the more expensive one held 99. lol

How can anyone even begin to compare what was the most advanced phone to hit the market, 10 years ago (at 3oz!), to something now?

And $850 in 1996? How about a Mac price back then vs. today? Coughing up some big dollars for a PPC dual 604 in a PowerMac 9500 case?

What's next----and Irridium comparison?

Edit: I particularly like this tidbit---

The PowerMac 9500, with 12 sockets, can fill all the slots with 64MB DIMMs and reach 768MB RAM for a suggested retail price of $46,800.

Advantage expects to ship 128MB DIMMs in the next few months. The 128MB DIMMs will allow Apple's PowerMac 9500 system to be expanded to 1.5 gigabytes of RAM.
