OT: If I report a credit card lost, will I get a new number?

Ok, here is the quick and dirty lowdown... I purchased an item that ended up being on backorder at homedepot.com... I called, waited an hour to talk to someone... They voided out the order... Now, I'm reading that homedepot.com's online ordering dept. has tons of flaws and I "MIGHT" end up getting the order even though it's voided out. Seeing it's on my home depot charge, if I report it LOST and request a REPLACEMENT card, will I get a new number to help prevent my order EVER PROCESSING seeing they wouldn't have payment?

Thanks!
Bill

Of course they'll give you a new number and void the old one.

Yes...just had to do this yesterday. Not lost though, but fraudulent charges on the card.

Yes you will get a new number, and then they will charge you $5 – $15 for it. You will have to protest the charge in order to have them remove it.

I have never been charged for a replacement card with a new number.

nor have I, although they might charge you if you need a new card overnighted, but I've never been charged for a new number card via regular mail.
