Running Tiger 10.4.3 on a dual 2.0 and trying to get my old belkin f5d5060 wireless b adapter to work with the most recent 10.3 drivers. It's not seeing my linksys G router. Are there drivers that work with this and tiger? Am I missing something?

Do you have any encryption turned on? From my experience, that Belkin doesn't play nice with WEP.

yes, I do have wep on. I could try turning it off to test, but I don't want an open network. I tried enabling internet sharing on my ti over ethernet, which is connected wirelessly to the linksys, but that doesn't work. guess two computers can't both do the routing.

well i turned off wep, and the belkin still lights red, and scanning for networks doesn't even show the linksy (or the other networks around here). bummer.

Try connecting the TiBook to the router via ethernet and then turn on internet sharing via the TiBook Airport card (also turn off the firewall on the TiBook). If the Belkin connects to it, then at least you know it's a problem between the LinkSys and the Belkin.

For security I use MAC address filtering instead of WEP encryption since WEP has caused problems in the past. Both can be easily cracked by a serious hacker but I doubt anyone's going to park in my cul-de-sac and hack into my network.

why don't you just get an airport card? it really doesn't look like its worth the trouble.

Works for me in 10.4 except my intel MacBook Pro--and I am bummed--it is a great tool for war driving.

I have some and they seem to work just fine on the 10.3 drivers.

so what were your exact steps to get it to work in Tiger. Maybe I'm just missing a step. I suppose the adapter could be shot.

These Macs have had it for a long time. So, they were upgraded to newer OSes along the way. I did nothing special or anything at all for Tiger. It just continued to work.
