Not a real big fan of "Borat" or "Bruno", but this film might be interesting. Loved this line too! smiling bouncing smiley

"The film tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed."

Borat: Cultural Learnings... as well.
Bruno left me limp, though it had its moments.

He will probably never top a lot of what was in Da Ali G Show though.

I thought he was going to play Freddie Mercury in a movie.

I enjoyed both films. Would love to see him team up with Jamie Kennedy. I hope he doesn't make Saddam look like a bad guy, though.

I've actually enjoyed him in his several roles where he hasn't been a complete ass. In an actual acting role, he could be good.

I thought I heard about him playing Freddy Mercury as well. If that happens, I'll be eager to see it. This one, well, maybe...

I'm willing to bet he'll be great as Freddie Mercury, though.

Will they use CGI for whole body shots? Or will he undergo femur reduction surgery?

They will use CGI for 3d mustache enhancement.

I was in the UK when he was doing "Da Ali G Show" on Channel 4 and it was even funnier than the HBO version here.

Wasn't the UK stuff on the DVD extras?

Isn't "comedy" supposed to make you "laugh"? I would't mind feeling uncomfortable if I was laughing. The only laughs I have gotten from Cohen was in Talladega Nights and I am sure it is because he wasn't in charge of it.
It's like that no-talent Don Rickles. "Comics" who beg off that you aren't laughing because you are uncomfortable have merely found the perfect excuse to hide behind.

I laughed my head off during "Borat", and almost completely lost it during one scene. Maybe I'm just fond of naughty, smart Jewish pranksters.

Oy vey! Don is an insult comic, which is totally different! You probably didn't understand that since I was typing too fast.

Seriously, though, I love Don Rickles! SBC was great in "Da Ali G Show." I liked Borat, but I would have preferred that he just stuck with the show instead of making the characters into movies.

The Ali G interview with Andy Rooney was hilarious!

I find Cohen uncomfortably funny and he does cross a line that we all wish he would leave well enough alone. But, that's the point.

I'll agree on the Don Rickles not being funny comment. I recall asking my mother where the humor was regarding Rickles when he would appear on Merv or Mike Douglas (back in the day).

And a pony in the river turning blue...
