He was on the intro. The half is yet to come. I thought he was a recluse or was maybe shunning MNF.

Anyone remember the line he had with Cosell about "eschewing fieldgoals."

MNF was always more about MNF than the game. Tonights' finale was a yawner, even for me.

Now if only a few AFC playoff teams would play at the Jets level.........

I remember one opening of MNF when Don, Frank Gifford and Howard Cosell were on.

The opening segment had the 3 standing on the field. It was pouring rain and Don was in the middle holding an umbrella to shield all three. First, Frank talked about one of the teams prospects.

Then it was Howard's turn to talk about the other team. As Howard was talking, Don leaned the umbrella toward Frank, living Howard in the pouring rain, trying to talk. The camera zoomed out a little and Don & Frank were laughing their heads off.

Another time on MNF, the camera zoomed in on a fan sitting in the stands. The fan was picking his nose. When he realized the camera was on him, he shot them the 'finger'.

Don instantally said, "Folks, that means we're Number 1."
