Belkin USB switch

Picked up one of these to share a Ricoh laserbetween a Mac and PC. Was considering sharing but that would mean both machines turned on. Anyway, the switc hworks well, as advertised. Just one keystroke at anytime to take control of the printer. It should work for any USB device. It even shows the status when the printer is in use by the other computer and I can't interupt. The only drawback I think is the fact that the switching software is an application so it shows up in the dock, one extra dock icon when it really does not need to be there.

Yeah I was starting to get Dock Overload too - I finally made an alias folder like suggested here
and now the dock is a little less cluttered

Where did you get the USB switch ? Any deal leads ?

Just curious, what is this "alias folder" in the dock that you speak of? Sounds interesting.

You can create a folder and place an alias of your lesser used apps and stuff in it

Open the folder and then shrink it to the dock

You can then click on the folder and open apps or whatever other alias
you have stored there and open it from the dock

You can also put folders inside of that folder to organize the alias files into categories like CD-Burning, Audio, Games, Utilities, QuickTime/Video, DVD Ripping or whatever.

And you can drag your drive icon or User folder into the Dock to get quick access from the Dock.
