How would I change a QT movie to a format that I could burn to DVD and then play on my TV?

I'd like to know the answer to that one myself. I sort of
collect Movie trailers and would love to know how to put them on a
DVD that is compatible with a home DVD player.

Did you try QT > iMovie > iDVD?

That is not a direct method, but it works well.

'Got Toast 6 or 7?

Run Toast, select the Video tab, drag the movie(s) onto the Toast window, click record and wait awhile for it to encode the video and burn. More options for things like autoplay and menus are available if you want to get deeper into it.

You can simply drag a QT movie to an iDVD theme window. It'll do the encode.

Don't ask who the bell's for, dude. It's you.

If it's actually a QuickTime .mov format, open a new iMovie and go to File>Import. (I know it will import .mov and .dv files - there are so many codecs out there, who knows what else it will handle)

After they are imported put them on timeline and put in chapters for each movie & click 'create iDVD project'.

This will open iDVD and you can select theme and burn.
