Airport Express and hooking my xbox up to it

I currently have an Airport Express with the latest firmware (6.3) that is sitting around collecting dust. I have an XboX that I just moved to my bedroom from the room where it had a wired internet connection in. I was wondering if it is possible to set up the aiport express to connect to my wireless network (a netgear dg834m) and then use the ethernet on the Airport Express to hook into the xbox and be able to get an internet connection from it. I seem to remember hearing that you can only do that sort of thing if you have the Apple router. I've been trying for the past two hours with different configs and google searches and can't seem to get a good answer. Has anyone tried this? I know I can go buy equipment that will do what I want but I figure since I already have the AEX laying around I might as well try that. I'm also not in the states so I can't just run over to Best buy and pick something up. thanks for any help!

It should, work fine.

You might need a crossover cable though.

I think it will only work if you can set up the Airport Express in WDS. This can be done with certain non-Apple routers, but I am unsure if you can do it with the Netgear router you have.

A little more searching turned this up

I guess there a no netgear products that support Wireless Distribution System. Oh well. I bought a belkin G710 Wireless range extender and it doesn't do what I need it to do either. It does extend my network however ;) So I guess I'll be taking it back. Thanks for your help guys.
