500 photo slide show. How to narrate?
Posted by: Microman

Wife came home from vacation, with over 500 pictures. She would like me to make a slide show DVD, that has her narrate so that all can remember what they saw.

How could I go about accomphlishing that>

Don't worry about it, everyone will be asleep after slide 50 grinning smiley

I was assuming I could use iphoto, and burn a DVD slideshow.

BUt maybe not. And If I could, was wondering how to add the narration, or if anyone else has done something similar.

THanks.

heehee, I would suggest background music, like AC/DC!
That's a lot of slides, the narration would run like War and Peace.

I gotta go with Spock on this one. That needs to be trimmed down by AT LEAST a factor of 5.

Eliminate similar shots, bad shots and boring shots and I predict you'll be closer to 1/10th that number.

Easiest way to do what you want:
1. Create slideshow in iPhoto. Export as .mov
2. Import into iMovie. Add narration and music.
3. Throw finished video into iDVD, add bee-yoo-tiful menus.
4. Burn.

Yup, 50 great slides will be 1,000 times better than 500 so-so slides.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Now, now, everyone...no one said his wife was planning to show this to anyone. Let's instead assume that this will be for her own personal use (and torture of husband).
