i ordered a book on friday that i wanted asap so i paid the one day (Prime) shipping fee of $3.99. it was supposed to be here monday; it arrived Tuesday.

i just finished online chatting with a Christine at Amazon. she refunded my shipping fee and extended my Prime membership by a month. Amazon Rocks!

I do like Amazon. That prime membership seems really expensive but I've been using it for the past year under the student thing and it's awesome. I'm very tempted to buy it.

I've never had a prime package delivered late.

Sometimes they get it to me in one-day.

Sometimes they send it by messenger.

Prime is worth it to me especially when i factor in the time and gas it saves me running around town hunting down an item. case in point - my son needed a new ID type holder for his bus pass. it's a small, inexpensive item but the last time i wanted one i had to go to three stores to find one that wasn't flimsy. this week i went on Amazon, found one that reviews reflected was sturdy and two days later he had it. he's happy; mom's free to do other things.

First prime order I ever placed was late by several days. They said their warehouse was just overloaded and couldn't get product out the door. They gave me $5 towards a future purchase. I promptly ended my Prime trial.

We ordered a book on a Monday around 2 or 3 and chose next day shipping for $3.99. It arrived on Tuesday around 10. Less than 24 hours turnaround.

I just ordered from Amazon, too.

My previous order arrived the same day, so you can't beat that!

I used prime to order a gps logger for a trip. It arrived a day late and unfortunately I had already left for my trip. So as much as I appreciate after-the-fact refunds, etc... I learned not to depend on prime for some things. My 2 cents.

Amazon Prime has worked flawlessly. Ordered at least 100 items since I got the free Prime Membership too.

for me it's also worth it since many times I buy items under $25 so I don't have to look for fillers to get "free" shipping. And also don't forget the movies

OTOH, two years ago my gps cable died while out on a month long road trip. i Amazon Primed it to a town i was going to be in overnight in two days out. my cable got to me in time. mishaps happen but Amazon does thier best and does try to make it right when things fall short.

Sounds like ad copy... Very nicely done by an actual customer.

Prime saves me the time of bothering to consider other websites.

I talked to Amazon just before I left and they wouldn't send it (or a subsitute) to my destination (Inverness, Scotland). The added downside was that they gave me some hassle when I got back a month later about returning the item (why didn't you do it sooner, etc.) and crediting my account. Oh well.

I'm with Graylocks here--I love my Prime account, especially now with the Instant Video thing.

I've been using Prime for three or four years now, I think.

Never had a late delivery, quite a few early by a day.

It's truly a bargain. Sometimes, when an Amazon price is a little higher than other options, the Prime advantage makes the difference, even if the Other Guys have free shipping.
