Hopefully fixing my iBook G3 900 logic board.
This is its first occurence, was dreaming the would say, "We'll just send you a new MacBook", but fixing the G3 is AOK too.

Had it been a G4 iBook, they might've cut you some slack and just sent the Intel one.

After Apple fixed my 900mhz G3 iBook, I sold it on eBay to buy a iBook G4 (was a REALLY great deal). If you say that is back from Apple with a clean bill of Heath as far as the Logic Board, bids tend to go higher.

Just food for thought if U want a Intel based Macbook.

I figured the G3 iBooks will not "hold" in value as well because of the Logic Board problems (like the old Powerbook 5300's and battery issue) so I figured it was time for a refresh while I could still get probably 50 to 75% of what I paid for it ($699 Microcenter deal, so I actually got about 90%).

I think my iBook is still covered by the Logic Board fix program since it was purchased in 2004 Yeah, would still love a MacBook.

I had an iBook G3 700, bought used (though virtually new) several years ago. Hardly a problem with it. Was beginning to think it was one of the few that didn't have the logic board issue. Then one day a couple of months ago, it 'appeared' not to wake up from sleep. Out of curiousity, I applied a little pressure to the area left of the trackpad, only to noticed my screen respond with some strange patterns (heard about this trick from comments some of y'all have made). Drat, it was the logic board problem. Took it to local Apple authorized service center, they called Apple, come to find out that it was covered under the repair program. Voila', fixed free in a couple of days time!
