eBay experts - buyer cancelled bid with invalid reason. Recourse?

Hi eBay experts:

I had a bidder today cancel their bid on an active auction with the reason provided that "seller changed the listing after bid". The reason is incorrect, as the listing has not been modified at all. It's more of the principle of the thing, but do I have any way to say "hey eBay, the bidder is lying on their cancellation request"?

recourse - absolutely none...

I wish ebay would do something about bid retractions - once buyers realize that there is not even a slap on the wrist, they get quite diabolical with bid retractions.

i once emailed ebay asking them why this buyer had about 20 bid retractions in the last 12 months (no longer able to get this info I think) and I got a canned response and the bad guy's account was never even suspended.

all you can do is put him on your bid block list so you'll never have to see him again...

You can file an invalid bid retraction alert. The buyer will get a wrist slap, but unless he makes a habit of retracting bids nothing will be done. Still, better to report than not, as getting this on his record helps establish a pattern. Also block from future bids if you like.

you'd think so, but that's not the case - buyer will never hear anything at all about it from ebay, but it might make you feel a little better....

Bidder blocked and invalid bid retraction report filed. Not expecting anything to come of it, but since I've already resurrected two lost causes in the last week (denied rebate payment and denied subscription renewal using frequent flyer miles) we'll see if anything happens.
