I have an issue with my Dual G5 2.0. Do I need to remove all non-stock items from the computer before I take it in? Say for example, you add RAM, hard drive and a different video card to the stock configuration.

You don't need to, but I do.
Never know what is gonna disappear.

Also, no excuse for it not being fixed if it is all Apple parts.

Did you replace the hard drive or just add one? If you replaced it I would put the old one back. In any case I would put the old video card back. Otherwise, depending on your Apple Store, the genius is likely to say "Third party, not our problem, thank you, goodbye."

Last year, I brought in an iBook under warranty to an Apple store. The genius eventually told me the logic board was fried and suggested it would be smart if he took out my non-Apple RAM and send in the iBook in the original configuration. We did that, got the new board and reinstalled the RAM in the repaired iBook. Good as gold since.
