I'm still brooding over the "they shoulda made it a period piece" (i.e., set in the late 50s/early 60s) so I'm out of the loop on the who-they-picked issue. My Bond is still Connery.

What about the Paul Reubens as the Joker rumor running for the sequel to BATMAN BEGINS? [www.batman-on-film.com]

(Reubens is 54, in his younger days; yeah, I coulda seen him as the Joker. Same goes for Reutger Hauer; take him from his BLADE RUNNER or THE HITCHER points, and I think he would've made a good Joker.)

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread.

If you see Munich, you might change your mind.

Would have been nice to get the Wolverine. James Wood would be okay as the joker but Christopher Walken would be perfect and he would probably love doing it. He could evilly dance around better than anybody in Hollyweird. More Cowbell!

I thought Nicholas Cage was the early choice.

Christian Slater would be the best Joker.

In the books, Bond is a thug. Yes, he's smart. Yes, he's a womanizer. But he's not charming. He's a cold-blooded killer on Her Majesty's payroll. He kicks ass and gets his ass kicked. He ends up in the hospital rather than the bedroom more often than not. But the other guy ends up dead.

The new Bond is the first one that I've seen who really looks the part. The only thing he's missing is the dark hair.

Until I see a preview that shows how they are going to ruin it, I'm kinda looking forward to this one.

Like Zoidberg, my Bond will always be Sean Connery.

The new 007, Daniel Craig, is great in the British film "Layer Cake," a crime drama. If you think you're having a bad day, think again when you see what happens to him. It's available on DVD and worth a look, be sure and check the alternative endings.

I'm hoping it will be -- OK.

Connery will always be the One True Bond, for me. Bronsnan was just-- OK.

I'll give this a shot.

I didn't care for Dalton, and I knew Moore would be lousy the instant I heard he was taking over. He was great as Simon Templer, but lousy as Bond.

Lazenby wasn't nearly as bad as some like to say, but I don't think he could have handled the franchise.
