So very saddened and sorry for your loss. I know a hole has been ripped out of your heart and the scar will be with you forever, but I hope that Jesse's memory will be a blessing for you and your family to share in the years to come.

Echoing the many lovely sentiments expressed in the messages above (especially by rjmacs), I am humbled by the grace, strength and compassion you have shown throughout these nightmarish events, and honored to have participated in a tiny way in your journey.

May peace be upon you, now and always.

I always liked these words:

"Death is nothing at all. It does not count. I have only slipped away into the next room. Nothing has happened. Everything remains exactly as it was. I am I, and you are you, and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was. There is absolute and unbroken continuity. What is this death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!"

I've been waiting to post something profound about your loss, but the words just don't do it justice. Others have already said some beautiful things to you and your son. I echo all of them.

As the father of a daughter with special needs, your experience is my worst nightmare. I dread the possibility of having to go through what you have been dealing with. I don't know if I could do it with as much grace as you.

I rarely share posts on here with my wife. This is my own little "Facebook" world. However, I had been giving her updates on Jesse and your family. We all express our sincere condolences. Peace be with you, Jesse, and the rest of your family.

Grateful11,

I am a long time lurker on this board and occasionally provide input on subjects that I am sure or passionate about. I saw the reference to your loved ones sickness last week and avoided the message due to my own recent loss. After the announcement of Jesse’s passing, I read through the links and visited the CaringBridge site. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful young man. Losing a young son is extremely painful. I lost my eighteen-year-old son in December after a six-month battle with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). It is too early for me to suggest that this level of loss is ever accepted. I have realized that God had a different plan for my son. Take care, hold tight with your family, and do everything you can to celebrate his life and the time you had with him.

We made it through the visitation. It was pretty tough seeing him at first but he looked like he was so at peace.
We all held up better than I thought we would. They did a great job of fixing him up because he looked
so bad in the hospital.

The live webcast thing really went bad technically but they got most of it recorded and it will be available
eventually through an Archive. I'll let y'all know when it's available.
