VAX systems:
Userid: "VAX"
Password: "VAX"

PDP Systems:
Userid: PDP11
Password: PDP11

Also a lot of them were "admin/password" in later 'more secure' updates.

Made my life a lot easier when I was working with them.

My system now is:

Take a phrase from a movie or song lyric. Remove the spaces. Change o to 0, 1 to ! and capitalize the vowels.

So:

I am your father

becomes

!Amy0UrfAthEr

Good luck cracking that one.

Mine used to be """Hooker & Booze""" but there was an anomaly or some corruption me thinks.
After entering the password it would leave a string of names..

Hello Danny
Hello Dan
Hello Jimmy
Hello Paul
Hello Bryan
Hello Bill
Hello BFD
Hello Gene
Hello Jamie
Hello Phil
Hello Blooz
Hello Cbelt
Hello Drew
Hello Bo
Hello Greg
Hello Vision
Hello Jack D
Hello Everyone

The string was very long *(:>*

Later updates got rid of those default accounts and passwords entirely. Though a good sysadmin would have changed or removed them right after installation anyways.

The Taoist Zhuangzi said, "Good order results spontaneously when things are let alone".
The sociologist, and historian, Adam Ferguson described the phenomenon of spontaneous order in society as the "result of human action, but not the execution of any human design".
