Bought new car. Manufacturer REFUSES to fix it. What do I do?
Posted by: Jp!

I bought a new Mercedes and it won't run for like a mile without having problems. The dealer can't get it fixed and the manufacturer refuses to help. What can I do?

Maybe we should take up a collection for this poor unfortunate dealer of exotic toys for the rich.

Maybe the other 4 owners are trying to keep their cars more rare by eliminating the fifth.

Mr. Moneybags should have done more homework to find out if the car was legal to license before he had the car imported. He is between the proverbial rock and a hard place.

Maybe the other 4 users will need some spare parts; some very expensive spare parts.

If by some tragic happenstance the car is stolen, what would the insurance payout be?

Would make a nice wall hanging ala Jackie Stewarts F1 car.

Yeah, the M-B Museum at the Alabama assembly plant should buy it and put it on display.

How did Bill Gates get his non-street-legal Porsche 959?

"When we took it off the lot in 2004 for its first customer test drive..."

Since this car is not street legal in the United States, doesn't the above line mean the car broke during the commission of a crime? Can you sue someone for a failure of equipment during the commission of a crime?

How did Bill Gates get his non-street-legal Porsche 959?

He has lots of money, and enough pull here in the greater Seattle area to not be hastled. he still owns it, and drives it. Paul Allen still has his as well. One or the other gets seen several times a year on the Eastside.

He has the whole Medina area sewn up. When he started construction on his house/complex a number of years ago, he did whatever it took to keep the neighbors happy, so he could have the construction crews start before normal construction hours, and to not cause any stink about congestion from the construction crews. The retired president of the company I contract with lives 2 doors down from Bill, so we heard all about what was going on, and what he got away with.
