How the hell can someone add me to a group without my permission?

Account --> Privacy Settings --> Edit your settings (bottom left) -->

Spend some time on that page. I've turned everything off.

And keep turning it off. Every time King Zuckerberg adds a 'feature' he automagically turns all the privacy 'off'. Or so it seems.

Nope. That won't work. I've already turned everything off.

Can I prevent people from adding me to a new group?
The functionality of approving a group membership is not available. Similar to being tagged in a photo, you can only be added to a group by one of your friends. When a friend adds you to a group, a story in the group (and in News Feed for Open or Closed groups) will indicate that your friend has added you to a group.

Now, I can go in and remove myself from the Group, but I shouldn't have to undo something that shouldn't have been done in the first place. Evidently, I'm not alone in my disapproval. [www.facebook.com]
