A Google engineer accidentally leaked a very long internal memo where he writes scathing words about Google+ and Google platforms, while giving props to Apple, Facebook AND Microsoft. He also totally tears into Jeff Bezos and Amazon, where this guy worked at prior to joining Google. Very interesting read.

I read it and he sounds like a douchbag who should only be worrying if his checks cash. It's their company, they can run it in the ground if they want to.

Based solely on that comment I'm not sure i'd want to work with you.

Some people like to feel like they're doing something meaningful while earning that paycheck.

"Everyone" wants to be doing something meaningful while earning a paycheck. I'm sure those companies believe they are. I'm also sure there is a way for him to communicate those concerns without putting his employers on blast by writing a sneaky internal memo as if he's got all of the damn answers. Man up and be straight up about it. I wouldn't want to work with some who advocates backstabbing.

Sounds a lot like a Parthian Shot to me. I once wrote a scathing memo similar to that (except it was loaded with humor instead of whining). For my own consumption. And then thought so highly of it I forwarded it to a couple of like minded friends I worked with.

BIG FREAKING MISTAKE.

The ONLY reason I was not fired was that a VP who I knew well saw a copy of it, agreed with a lot of it, and had trouble stopping laughing. But that memo cost me probably in excess of $100,000 in the last ten years.
