hmmm, says you need windows to modify the encryption and settings. Does this mean that it is not web based?

Thanks for the post.

I'm a bit confused though. I can't tell from the press release or the product descriptions what this would be good for.

I have a wireless network set up in my house. I also have a ReplayTV. What can I do with the Netgear product?

I'd say the NetGear item lets you replace Ethernet cable (or not string it at all) and wireless, with your house wiring at a throughput of up to 200Mbps.

For people who want more throughput that wireless allows, and the security of direct wire without the hassle of running E-net cable, this looks like a good answer.

People have been trying to use household power lines to carry computer signals since the 80s. But that old relentless 110V gets them all sooner or later.
