just curious if you have got it to work right out of the box (with a bluetooth adapter or hardwire)?

I have had some issues with getting codes read on '90s Volvos and now my CEL is on to the commuter mobile.

The Cheap Chinese ELM Scanners are usually to blame when you have issues. I tried it on a friend's Android with such a cheapie... It worked when the tide and moon were right, the rest of the time had communication issues.

We're all waiting for the iPhone app, but it's just *not* forthcoming. Alas.

I did get it to connect via the SOP, but it did not read any useful data, only RPM.

Keep waiting. To use hardware API's on the iPhone (including Bluetooth) you need to get Apple approval. Thus why Wi-Fi OBDII scanners exist now.
