Deadly? Where's it say that? Maybe if the story said "Newly Discovered Chameleon Snake Slays Ten." Venomous doesn't always mean deadly. Very few snakes are deadly. Just trying to sex up your headline I suppose.

A reptile expert said he put the 1.5 foot long reddish-brown snake into a dark bucket. When he went to get it a few minutes later, he said it was almost entirely white.

Is that bad grammar, or do they really mean the bucket turned white?

And what kind of confused snake would turn a light color when it was in a dark container?
