Yes, of course. I want everyone to know I have an iPhone or iPad. 21

No, for whatever reason. 23

Just wondering how many people still have the "sent from my iDevice" tag attached to their emails that they send from their iPhone or iPad. I disabled mine immediately, but my daughter really likes having that stamp on hers.

I think it's tacky, and was only cool several years ago when iPhones were a unique item. Does anyone use an email signature that says "sent from my MacBook air" or "sent from my gateway 2000 craptop"?

I used to have it there, thinking that letting recipients know that I wasn't at my computer would be helpful, but recently deleted it because I thought it seemed a bit pretentious.

This makes sense to me and there are still people that are iPhone users not iPhone experts,
which speaks to the inability to change settings... Just like licensed car drivers they have a license
but drive in way that if described will get us banned *(:>* devil smileypirate smileyjest smiley

Someone here used to have a "sent from my Apple Newton" sig, which I thought was hilarious.

I have used it as an email sig to a few folks that would appreciate it.

Same here.

Pretentious? You can get an iPhone for the princely sum of $0, and every Joe and Jill Blow has an iPhone now days. If some schlub is so insecure and / or still living in the dark ages of Mac vs. PC and "Apple users suck!" and is going to get their nose out of joint because they consider that sig 'bragging', that is their problem not mine.

It's like getting your undies in a wad over somebody 'bragging' that they bought Kleenex at the grocery store. What, too good for the generic facial tissues, I guess? big grin smiley

Mine says "Sent from my pretentious and costly gadget, You should feel honored to have received this even if it is laden with typos and grammatical errors."

Should have been a voting choice that said, "Yes, for whatever reason." I've never thought to change it.

I remove it immediately - iPad, Android device, iOS device, etc.

I don't want people to know whether or not I am at my desk or at work...

A friend of mine said the same thing. smiling smiley

I took mine off because, similar to volcs0, I would rather not announce if I am at my desk or not.

As for pretentious, since every mobile device comes with a sig as a default, I don't think it's pretentious to let it ride. I for one didn't really notice it was there for like a week. And I don't think having a mobile device is all that special or envy-inducing these days.

I use it for reasons others have mentioned- explain brevity, typos, etc. I am really bad at typing on the phone (that goes for texting, too) and try to keep replies as quick as possible. I don't want to come across as being curt or short tempered, especially if I am replying to someone I don't know.

Ok I just changed it to this: Sent from my iPhone 4 so please forgive any typos, curtness, or weird autocorrect substitutions.

Mine says "Sent from my clay tablet".

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan
