Illustrator CS2 question...

I'm trying out AI CS2, and can't figure out why the keyboard shortcut for switching between the select and direct-select tools isn't working... Years ago, I had to figure out how to disable the system's use of Cmd-Tab, so that I could use it in AI 10; now it doesn't work!?! How do I re-enable that functionality in the latest version?

Also, I have a couple of scripts that create keyboard shortcuts for increasing and decreasing stroke width. These no longer work in CS2, whereas they worked great in CS. I think I found them in that Adobe forums, so I guess I can look back there, but it would great if anyone here could help me out with this as well! (I think I might have found out about 'em here in the first place?)

Many TIA,
John-o

V and A work fine for me as shortcuts. Don't know why they don't work for you.

No, I mean the shortcuts you can use while staying within the tool you're otherwise using. In other words, say you're using the pencil tool; whenever you hold down the Command key, you change to the Select tool to move things around. Then, in the past, you could quickly toggle Command-Tab, and you'd have the Direct Select arrow whenever you hold down Command. This no longer works in CS2. Make sense now?

Thanks,
John-o

Holding down the command key toggles between the current tool and the last selection tool you had selected.

Haven't you guys used a version of AI previous to CS?? If you hit Cmd-Tab, you can toggle between the two seletion tools, without having to switch tools otherwise. Doesn't work anymore, eh?

I remember that feature, thanks for prompting me to look for it again.

Apple key toggles to your last selection tool from other tools. In the past, Apple - Tab toggled from select to direct select but no longer works since Apple - Tab switches applications now.

Apple - Option - Tab toggles from the select tool to the group selection tool, let go of the option key and you now have the direct selection tool.

Thanks wr, that helped a lot. I found where I could change the keyboard shortcut back to what I'm used to. It's really hard to relearn that muscle memory stuff!

My pleasure John-o. I'd been compensating for the lack of toggling by preloading the direct selection tool but this is better...
