Looking for new hosting

I've had dreamhost, but ever since they had their security breach, I've had nothing but problems.

I need a host though that has similar flexibility. Unlimited domains, MySql Db's, Unlimited bandwith, etc. that was really nice, but I've had enough of their problems.

What are some other hosts that has the features like dreamhost, and is in their price range? I need to be able to manage many sites under one control panel.

you will be prepped, draped, and hoisted from the usual location at the aforementioned time
closest to dawn. all your requirements will be forwarded prior to being fed to the sharks.

control is not an option *(:>*

I've had good luck with Hostmantis. It's been cheap and reliable for me, hosting multiple domains on one account. Shameless referral link

What problems have you had with DH? I haven't had any issues, other than resetting passwords.

ever since their password breach, I've had so many infected files, and I have no idea where it's coming from. All domains are affected. I'm going to have to start from scratch. I just can't trust the account. Not sure what else to do.

What kind of files are these? Have you contacted DH and asked them to fix it?

Dot, were you maintaining up-to-date WP installs? Using third-party themes/templates? Either of these problems has been associated with malware, and it's not necessarily DH-related.

bluehost has also been hacked and has a pretty bad rep.

Yeah, my account got hacked immediately after I switched to them. I admit I didn't have the strongest password and since I changed it to something a lot better, I haven't had a problem BUT a quick search found that they had been hacked repeatedly which made their denials of any problems a load of BS.

Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that my account had auto-renewal turned on so they dinged me for another two years so I'll ride it out until it comes up again.

i've got hundreds of files with php base4 code in them. Yes i do have some outdated wp and concrete5 installs.

What are the chances the db's are corrupt as well? if not, i'm backing them up now, and will just have to rebuild with the latest versions, after resetting the password again.

this is a nightmare.

pair.com, and you will not have these kinds of issues.

There is no such thing as "unlimited" anything, so I am always wary of companies promising that.

ASmallOrange is also fairly decent, but if you want rock-solid, it's pair or shell out for some kind of VPS/Cloud solution at MT/Rackspace(slicehost)/Linode/Softlayer et al.

Pair is very good, but on the expensive side. Note that some things bundled by the other hosts, e.g. software installation manager, are paid add-ons for pair.

And all that stuff copied over can have the same issue on the new host. Outdated things like WordPress and C5 are big problems. There's a very high chance the DBs have been compromised and as you clean your code the hacks are being reinserted. If you google for key aspects of the exploit, there's walkthroughs available for ridding yourself of the common ones.

I've got accounts myself with DH and Pair. Pair is great, but you have to modify the php.ini for things like WordPress to work. Pair isn't an over seller. Most people don't know what that is. I would avoid MT as they've been hacked in the past, their product is pretty bad and their CS is pretty bad as well.
