Everytime that I try to open or download a PDF with Firefox the application goes bonkers. It starts opening a wave of windows and the only way to make it stop is to force Firefox to shut down. Then I have to clean up dozens of '.part' files from the download folder. I've tried to search for a solution, but I haven't found anything yet. Anyone know what is going on? Why? How to fix it? I don't care how or if the PDF is opened after it is downloaded. I can manually pick Acrobat Reader or Preview at that point. I just don't want Firefox to explode every time that I click on a PDF.

ANY PDF file does this, not a specific one. I can't save or view PDF files from Firefox.

Have Firefox NOT open PDF's, link it to Adobe. Adobe integration into browsers really sux. Have had problems in Mac OS and Windows OSes

Open Fx's prefs, choose the Applications pane, find the appropriate file type, select, then choose the desired action when Fx encounters a file with that MIME type.

There doesn't appear to be an entry for 'PDF' or anything related.
