I'm one of the lucky ones who is working today. Not a big deal since I get a floating holiday but it almost feels creapy. Nobody is on the road, phones aren't ringing, not many employees here so far.

I am working (or at least pretending to be) today.

When I still had a corporate job (pre self employment) I was always the "holiday guy"

My boss had seniority so he always got the Christmas time vacation and
even though my video producer had less seniority than me I always let
him take the holiday too as his family was a few hundred miles away.

I actually enjoyed the quiet and got a lot done without interruption.

Now if we had an internet connection back then ....

I'm here, although most of my patients cancelled for some reason. Seems like a good day to go see the doc, it's not like they have anything else to do. Oh well, guess I'll catch up on paperwork (that is, if I stop posting here).

I need to see jardster. My doc is off and I have been fighting bronchitis for 4 days. Just not getting any better. I won't describe the color of the slime coming out of my body. It ain't pretty.

Paid Holiday for me and it has rained all day here in NC, but
not quite as bad as it did on the Tournament of Roses Parade.
Installed 2 new TV's in my MIL's house and went shopping.

Paid holiday for me--as was all of last week--and I'm off the rest of the week (vacation days). But I went into the office almost every day last week, and have work "on the side" to do the rest of this week. Some vacation!

Paid holiday for me today but it's back to the madness (and the knucklehead boss) tomorrow.

I worked, get credit to take off another day later in the year though so that's good, that and there was absolutely no work to be done so I napped for about 5 hours after exhausting my online possibilities.
