Suggestions for reusing old pressure treated wood?

My dad suggested a short retaining wall, since I want one, but I can't see it working well for that. I'm tearing down old decking and railing that's probably treated with copper, arsenic etc. It's 20 yrs old. Some of it is split, or cupped. I've got an email into my trash hauler asking how to dispose of it properly; the answer to that's not obvious.

Probably would make some nice horseshoe pits.

Dunno yet. 3-5 ft?

I just see us "building up" the thickness with multiple boards and rot settling in between the cracks. Would rather a stone wall, or at least railroad ties.

Good call ~~> """Would rather a stone wall, or at least railroad ties."""

Finding the best way to dispose of the treated lumber . . . is also a good move imho

if you don't have a specific use for it then you should dispose of it. its nasty stuff and you simply don't benefit from having it around if it isn't serving a specific and important purpose.

You could use it to make a raised bed for garden plants. With it being 20 years old I don't think it would hurt the garden any. Shouldn't any bad chemicals be left to leech away. . . OK, MAYBE NOT . . . Consumer Safety Information Sheet

Good enough to build a shed ?

You really don't want to use it anywhere where you might grow vegetables either today or tomorrow.

I do want a small shed back there to store the mower and some other bulky stuff crowding out the cars from the garage. Maybe I'll try to find some simple plans online.
