Theory.. Behind every successful, driven person who fails to self destruct is a... centered, loving spouse

Looking at bios and discussions of Mark Zuckerberg's new wife, I'm reminded of Steve Job's wife. And George Harrison's wife, etc...

What do you think ? I find that the best relationships are yin and yang. Mrs. cbelt3 definitely centers me at times, and vice versa...

We operate on a basic rule. Only one of us is allowed to go a little crazy at a time. big grin smiley

Maybe not "every"... but it's certainly a statistically significant trend! grinning smiley

I see success before marriage in your examples… so your data are not actionable.

I think the magic is that the family is well balanced. That is, family support covers someone's weaknesses and doesn't drag down someone's strengths.

I think my wife would be offended if someone called her 'centered' - she's as crazy and me, just in different enough ways to make life fun and functional!

2 cents:

Being "centered and loving", along with physical attractiveness and maybe intelligence, are the MOST highly valued attributes in a spouse. The more money you have, the more of those attributes you can "buy".

Quoted for emphasis. Just found a good, lovingly weird guy and he accepts my weirdness too.
