Was there an animated film about 1980-ish called American something

about some would-be rock star, that might have had a Bob Seeger tune in the promo commercials? Kind of "Heavy Metal" animation look to it.

Don't forget that he also wrote and directed Wizards [www.imdb.com]. That movie affected how I drew for years afterwards.

I think I'll go add that film to my queue.
