It would be nice if the price were just the price

instead of a guess at how much money can be removed from your wallet.

buying train tickets in the uk. i guess a fair amount of time has elapsed since i last did this - six years?

I just sat and watched as ticket prices rose, thinking there was something wrong with my search. A google search returned endless tips on how to save on train fares. One that works - if your journey involves a transfer, look at booking the legs separately. I think this may split my price increase from $30/ticket to $15/ticket. should have purchased a bit earlier.

If you're worried about this, then I advise you not to purchase airline tickets in the US.

[www.nationalrail.co.uk] which will eventually redirect me toward virgin, at least for london -> st bees. (sept 10th)

then i return from robin hood's bay on the 24th. likely take a taxi to Middlesbrough and take the train from there. i'll look into this one tonight.

i've begrudgingly accepted it for airline travel.

I'm not 100% on this but it seems that the regular discount tickets sold out so now its offering first class discounted tickets....not so bad.
