What a month. Now someone rear ends us, while we are at a traffic light.

With all the trips to hospitals and emergency rooms and doctors, now some guy plows into me and Frank while we are sitting at a red light. We were coming from a doctor's appointment, one of many Frank has had over the last few weeks, at I was at a full and complete stop, as they say, at an intersection, waiting for the light to change, and a guy in a big old van plows right into the back of my little Scion xB. We both had our seat belts on and I had my foot on the brake, so I didn't hit anyone in front of me, but it was quite a jolt.

The guy driving the van had an oxygen cannula on and apparently had a violent coughing attack and just didn't stop. His son was in the van, too. He fully admitted guilt and we pulled off and got a police report and all, but now I still have to deal with all the hassle of getting my car repaired. My insurance said I could go ahead and get it fixed and they will just recover from his insurance, but still, what a pain. Also, Frank surely didn't need to be jostled around like that. I am glad I had put the headrests back on the seat, as I had them off when we were moving my daughter and had to fold the seats down. His van sustained no damage at all, figures.

This has been a rough few weeks.

I know from experience that this kind of stuff tends to cluster. I had a gloomy-diagnosis/job-loss/car-wreck week of my own many moons ago.

Horses? those are so 1800's. We invented wheels for a reason: bicycle

Glad you're both OK. No rest for the weary, is there?
A week ago someone backed into my parked van and drove off. The folks that saw it didn't get the license number.

See a doctor, pain will be masked from the shock and emerge later.

I understand how you feel. I have been nursing my sister for the last 2 weeks from her hip replacement due to metastatic breast cancer. She had a horrible recovery right out of surgery when her epidural failed. She felt all the pain from the surgery when they brought her to her room. A really bad day. So I take her home 2 days later. Get her in her chair, make sure she is comfortable. She turns on her 46" Vizio TV that she has owned for a year or two. It had a beautiful picture. So lifelike. The picture has shrunk to a flat line across the top of the screen. I am pulling my hair out. The TV will be her entertainment for a few weeks until she gets her strength back and can get around on her own. Have no idea what happened. It was working fine before she left for the hospital. Luckily enough she had a small flat screen in her bedroom. So I know how you feel, rgG. When it rains it pours.

Yep. When I was 18 the other person's insurance company was at my work ~12 hrs later to have my sign paperwork. I felt fine then. A day in a half later my back was hurting pretty good, and I learned the hard way that the symptoms usually take two days to show up.

What others said about seeing a doctor is good advice. I felt fine after a similar experience, but ended up with some major neck problems. See a doctor. Their insurance company will pay for it, and you should get something for pain and suffering if you are in pain.

Thanks all. We went out for a nice dinner with my mother-in-law tonight, so that made me feel a little better. I hope neither of us has any real injuries from this, but I will keep an eye on things. I took a couple of aspirin earlier and will take a couple more before bedtime, just to help with any inflammation there might be.

BtW, my 87 year old mother-in-law drove us to dinner tonight, and I think I am more likely to have suffered whiplash from her lead foot and extreme stop and go driving than the accident. My husband usually drives, but she got a new SUV and he didn't feel great about driving it, and I didn't either, so she drove. Not a wise move. Not a wise move at all. grinning smiley

Everything is going to be better very soon. Because everything is being addressed. Hurdles come with the territory. I'm glad you're not hurt.

rgG, I don't think you should get on a plane anytime soon.

I hope the rain of crud ends with the accident.

You should be able to get a recommendation for a doctor from a good attorney.

So Sorry, sometimes when it rains it pours. And you have plenty to deal with right now.

I was rear ended on 75 south in stop and go traffic and hit pretty hard. After day 2, woke up and could not get out of bed. Made it to a chiro on my block and was ok after 3 days of very mild treatment. In retrospect I should have gone to a doctor and had a work up done. I have issues in neck and back that seem to happen at the drop of the slightest wrong move.

On a positive note, the weather is supposed to get very nice this weekend.
