"You've heard about our ongoing battle with the CPSC.
Due to their baseless and relentless legal badgering,
we've sadly decided to stop production of Buckyballs and Buckycubes.
We still have a few thousand sets in stock, but once we sell through those, they're gone for good
"

I await further restrictions on fun. Most of us know better than to let little kids play with dangerous stuff.
Things that go Boom ? Check.
Things with Sharp Parts? Check.
Things you Should Not Eat ? Check.
Things you Should Not Swallow ? Check.

Eventually we'll all be restricted to using sporks.

No... sporks are pointy at one end... those will be banned too.

Accidents happen even to the most careful of people. When you drop off your kid at a friend's house, do you inspect every one of their toys for safety?

Hmm, maybe my investment in rare-earth-magnet lawn darts was not such a good idea.

I am attracted to these, yet repelled at the same time.

I'm not sure I get your point. Are you insinuating that I shouldn't protect my kids when I can just because there are times I can't always protect them?

My response was to the OP's first comment of:

"I await further restrictions on fun. Most of us know better than to let little kids play with dangerous stuff."

The implication here is to be a responsible parent and not buy dangerous toys. I agree, but you cannot control what other parents buy. I don't know of any parents who scour the houses of their kids' playmates for dangerous toys every time they go over to play, so IMO the CPSC's reaction is reasonable for protecting kids, etc. from these potentially dangerous toys.

A little pricey for my taste, but cool nonetheless.

I like the BuckyBars, too.
