Did no one buy an iPhone 5?
Posted by: Grumpyguy

Maybe I've missed the posts and reviews, but it seems to me with the 4S came out, there were oodles of I got one posts.

So, for those who have an iPhone 5, how is it?

I have to wait 47 days before I can upgrade my old a$$ phone to an iPhone 5 at a discount. $199 discounted vs $649 now. Still would need to add applecare.

I've got one. I like it a lot compared to my iPhone 4. I like the size, the weight, the speed, and Siri is pretty handy.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I got my first look at a Samsung Note 2 yesterday. HUGE screen but, it still fits easily in my shirt pocket. I'm definitely dumping ATT. I'm now researching other carriers and, I'll wait until next week for Black Friday to see what deals can be had.

I got one this week. I upgraded from an iPhone 4 as well. Siri is cool. The phone is light and thin. I put it in a rubber case I got at a mall kiosk. That case seems to attract pocket lint like crazy. The phone is great, but I really can't tell much difference between it and the 4 other than Siri. OH, LTE is crazy fast compared to 3G.

My contract on my 4 ends this month. I expect to get a 5.

My kids bought me an iPhone 5 for my birthday, and I love it!
Much lighter and faster than the old one.

I'm kind of waiting on that also. And no stock on 32gb locally. My wife is sporting a 5. Camera kicks the pants of the 4, and in my casual couch tests web browsing is snappy.

I'm happy with my 4S. Work pays for it, which makes me even happier.

Received mine release day. Love it. Amazingly fast, and so much lighter than the 4/4s it's shocking.

4s is a nice phone. 5s is a GREAT phone.

Good Luck!

Planning on upgrading wife at the end of the month (contract) and I'll probably wait a bit before I upgrade my 4. I'll be off contract too but with the holidays coming up, the extra $300 is better spent on seasonal spending than an upgrade from a 4 -> 5. Maybe early next year.

Based on the number of 4/4s available on eBay, lots of people have upgraded.

We got our two 64 GB iPhone 5's a couple of weeks ago after a 4 week wait. Really nice. We upgraded from iPhone 4's. I am enjoying using Siri and since I load a lot of apps and music will enjoy the larger memory.

Another reason I like the 5 (perhaps the best reason) is that the voice quality is amazing. I didn't even expect this.

The new models appear to be quite nice! Try to skip the contract, though.
