what did you have for dinner?

I had steak with montreal seasoning rubbed in cooked over mesquite wood pellets, served with grilled onions and mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, and shrimp fried in butter, and finally a very nice red wine. Wow, it was fantastic!

My husband is a wonderful cook and we usually have lovely dinners, but somehow people always ask this sort of question on the day I've eaten something like a Marie Callendar pot pie. Which is exactly what I had tonight, Marie Callendar pot pie.

The other thing I've noticed is that people always ask this sort of question when they've had something wonderful.

Just once I think it would be funny if someone started a thread: "I just ate Welch's Grape Jelly on Saltines and washed it down with a glass of milk. What did you have?" :-)

$tevie- I'm close! I just had pretzel sticks dipped in peanut butter and now I'm picking at some cantaloupe. Next time I have this I'll be sure to start a thread. smiling smiley

I might, MIGHT take the plunge and make a Boca Burger but I'm still undecided.

We're having BLTs and possibly soup.

The soup is undecided but it's between minestrone from a can or tomato from a can.

The homemade cream of broccoli is frozen sad smiley

Yeah, Dave, rub it in.
Hope you don't eat like that too often tho. Watch them arteries.

Oh, I had a Muffaletta for lunch. Never heard of it before, but it was great!

Veggie chips, a bowl of cereal, and an apple. I haven't been to the grocery store yet this week, and I just didn't feel like going anywhere after work. I'm still hungry, so I'll probably scrounge up some PB&J for a sandwich chaser in a minute.

Homemade version of hamburger helper (wife's mac & cheese with seasoned ground beef, ground turkey for me), fresh picked salad from the garden and ice water.

Dessert of homemade Kona coffee ice cream.

Green beans with mushrooms
Mashed potatoes
Polish sausage

It's always the "junk food" night.

I had a take and bake pizza. Chicken garlic. It wasn't up to this take-and-bake shops usual standards.. but not bad.

I dropped the top on my 350Z roadster, put my dog in the car and drove to a local teriyaki chicken place. Then we went to Gasworks Park, spread out a towel and ate dinner while watching the sailboats on Lake Union. It was a pretty sunset.

I just cut the squash in half, then lengthwise and put in aluminum foil. Drizzle a bit of olive oil on top. Then wrap up and place on the grill until tender. Zucchini and asparagus do well too. Just lightly salt the asparagus. And try to keep the package off to the side, not directly on the flames.
