Well, not exactly, but when I went in to buy an iPhone 5 case, the employee asked if I had the Apple Store app on my iPhone. Since I did, he walked me through making a self purchase. Scan the bar code and sign in with Apple ID and you're good to go. I guess the idea is that you go in, make your purchase and walk out with the item. Pretty awesome. I guess there are so many eyes on you in that store, that they aren't worried about theft.

By the way, I LOVE my Adopted leather covered iPhone 5 case. I had a rubber one from a kiosk that just attracted dirt. Feels like a completely different phone. Very nice.

I tried that some months ago with a Time Capsule, with no success. I was surprised and a little annoyed, as it was my understanding that the app could be used to purchase any item that is on a shelf accessable to customers.

It is what it is.

I brought an old (first edition) G5 intel to the Apple store. It had quit. They restored the OP (Snow Leopard) and sent me on my way. Once home the video card went south so I returned the unit to the store. Amidst many declarations that this was not a problem that could have happened while it was in their custody, they relented.

The tech mgr found a motherboard in Peking. had it shipped and installed at no charge. It's a Mac worth in the vicinity of $10-200 dollars. Who else does this sort of thing?

Why would somebody teach you how to make his OWN job obsolete???
