What time do Apple pre-orders typically go live?

I need to jump on pre-ordering one of the new 27" iMacs this Friday and am wondering if historically there is a standard time that Apple allows pre-orders to be taken?

Is the 27" going to be available then? The website says "December" for the 27" and "November" for the 21.5"

we are being told "2–4 weeks" by our warehouse suppliers.

Apple stores may have them sooner...

I read Apple's statement to mean that the 27" iMacs would be available for pre order on Friday and ship in December. Am I misinterpreting?

Now that I've read that, I agree with your interpretation.

Not sure what time they'll start taking pre-orders, but when the iPhone 4s was first available for pre-order, they went live just after midnight Pacific time.

I guess that was also the case for the iPhone 5 now that I think about it. I'm in the PST so I'll give it a look at midnight Thu/Fri and hope the same is true for the iMac.
