Canon VIXIA HF M500 - good for shooting documentary?

Nothing professional here. We're going to be interviewing people for a long term project.

This one has reviews that say it's good in low light for indoor shooting, internal mic is good, and works well with external mic as well.

Does anyone here have it?

$300 at B&H is about our limit. We'll buy extra batteries, etc as well.

Whatever you end up buying, get an external mic! Do NOT use the internal mic for spoken audio.

It doesn't need to be fancy, I used to use one of these: [www.bhphotovideo.com], but the difference was HUGE, especially when it came to interviews!

That's a bit much for a mic, but I will get one a bit cheaper.
