The guy said he was a full breed black lab. No papers, but, I am not worried about that. He has the lab personality and look. Got to meet the momma as well. She was nice, social and gentle.

Funniest image I have of one of our labrador retreiver seven month old puppies was teaching him to sit and stay (while we walked down the street).
About a block away , His front feet started pulling his rear end towards us. As though his rear quarters could do sit and stay, but his front legs couldn't.
They can be wonderful with kids, just never let a kid squeel in his/her ears. It hurts. About the only thing I can think of that will make a retreiver snap.
They love to run, great exercise is frisbee fetching. Mine all loved the water.

My brother in law's black lab is dumb as a box of rocks but is the sweetest, most playful dog I've met. What a cutie you have!

Well, my black Lab is as smart as could be, just like my first one was. I love Labs. Now I want to get a puppy! So cute. And I agree that Spud is a cute name.

They do tend to learn from their masters.
Is your brother-in-law as dumb as a rock, too ? :-) :-) :-)

Best posts on the Forum. Wuppies! And particulary a beauty like this. Spud looks a little scared but after he realizes he is going to be loved and munch on a regular basis I think life is gonna be great.

Awwww, reminds me of the black lab I had as a kid and teen. He lived to be 13 years old. Labs are the best!

I got him for $150. Didn't haggle at all. The folks selling them looked like they could really use the money and one less mouth to feed.
