To update my experience from decay's thread [forums.macresource.com] a month ago, I had perfect luck with the one I ordered. Opened it up and yes, the enclosures had been (somewhat) forcefully opened to remove the original drives, however I put a previously formatted drive in, plugged it in and it just worked. <shrugs> I'll count my lucky stars.

Good to hear! I bought four of those enclosures and put brand new drives in two of them which worked just fine. Based on that previous thread I have been a bit hesitant to transfer two other active drives out of their existing USB2 enclosures into these. Guess I'll just go for it and hope mine work as yours did.
