I need a pair of folding sawhorses for light use in the garage and inside the house once in a while. Handyman stuff around the house. Maybe lift up the lawnmower to change the oil. Stuff like that.

Are all sawhorses pretty much the same for light use? Rubber feet would be nice for when i use them in the house. Any recommendations Stanley? Crawford Storehouse?

They're not all created equal, but I find there's not much difference in the $20-30 price range, so I went with the $20 ones from harbor freight.

Grainger tends to be expensive for things and you need to have a commercial/business account to purchase from them. OR, at least the retail locations. You'll do better price-wise elsewhere.

I've found that this sort of thing ROCKS for such use. I also keep a pair of plastic 'sawhorses' for when I need a sawhorse. But I hardly ever use them.

Yeah, you can use the Grainger one when you really want to saw a horse...

Just be careful folding up the metal ones. I got my finger in the hinge part. I didn't even know I could scream that loud.

I have some cheap metal Stanley ones. The covers on the feet are slip on plastic. They fell off a couple of times until I put a self-tapping screw throught the plastic into the metal leg.

Actually, the one in South Seattle does. They ring it up as a cash sale and charge you the printed catalog price.

The Workmates look great as well,, but I'm thinking the Workmates are more in addition to some nice solid quality sawhorses. Rather than in place of sawhorses (?).

I have a workmate and not terribly impressed.

I've made my own that are sturdier. They don't fold up and store in as small a space, but you can also cut them by mistake with little damage . They wear a patina of spilled and splattered paint well too.

I have a pair of these. Inexpensive and easy to store. Strewed a 2x4 on the top to prevent cutting the metal top. $18 each at local HD or lowes.
Word of warning. Do not get the all plastic ones, no matter what it says about weight or sturdyness, they suckage.

I have the Workforce brand from HomeDepot, Just found it.
Here you go.


It is very sturdy and easy to use and setup. Went through a plastic set from sears. Like I said earlier. Screwing a 2x4 onto the top saved the metal. NO RUBBER feet though.

You can try the Husky X-Horse from HD. $37 - 40 it has rubber/plastic feet. It folds flat and a friend of mine loves his.
